In the classroom, you may see either a skills-based curriculum, or a play-based curriculum. Whichever you may prefer, it is important to have balance!
Kinderdance is an advocate for the development of both the child's body and brain. We promote a balance in skills-based curriculum, and play-based! While there is "no going wrong" in a skill- based curriculum, play-based thought helps children (and adults!) succeed. Kinderdance provides both elements, creating clear pathways for success. Here are a few reasons why we let the kids play!
One: When children play together, they are likely to collaborate and create new ideas or structures.
Kinderdance takes skills and puts them into games that help children work together.
Two: In a play- based curriculum, children use sight, touch, and sound to process, mimic, and learn skills.
Kinderdance uses physical props to practice adding and subtracting numbers.
Three: Playing helps children learn balance and how to have successful interactions with others.
Kinderdance practices teamwork by learning from each other's mistakes and correcting them.
